Serkan studied industrial engineering at Boğaziçi University where he also worked with painting, design and sculpture at the Fine Arts Club. His current works are mainly based on these practices.
He makes drawings and illustrations for stories. His first book, story co-written by A. Pinar Köprücü, was published by İletişim Yayınları in 2012. He illustrated and self-published several calendars, made illustrations for books, music albums and movie posters. He also makes installations and assemblages with a similar approach to his drawings. He uses collected natural and waste materials, paper, wires and fabric in his work and creates imaginary scenes inspired by stories.
He also works as a designer, making interior, furniture and lighting design. He is the co-founder of Olmaz Isler design collective (2012-15). They have also started the woodworking workshop at Boğaziçi University and tutored for some years. His designs are not predetermined but more based on experimenting with materials in the workshop. He produces himself and also co-working with his carpenter and blacksmith friends.
